Student Pre-Requisites

Australia College is proud to present advanced courses with modernised and relevant learning content.

Our student requirements are at times very demanding so we expect our students to be able to perform in line with the advanced nature of the study programmes and qualification expectations we deliver.

Short Courses

Our pre-requisites for short courses and modules is less stringent than our diploma based course as they are all about learning a specific skill to a level of competence that we can grade and issue appropriate Certificates of ability in.  Our short course certification is however a very serious process and requires competence in the discipline being studied.

As our qualifications and accreditations are aimed at the English speaking world's expectations and requirements, we do expect our students to attain or possess a level of English competency that will :

A) allow then to competently study, attend lectures and interact with tutors for the purposes of understanding, working to level in and passing the course requirements, essays, assignments and examinations.

B)  Have a level of English that can competently demonstrate their abilities in the course or module they have undertaken both during and at the completion of the course or module.

Diploma in Information Technology

Our pre-requisites for Diploma courses are a bit more stringent.

The Diploma in Information Technology is designed to take you from novice to professional and that is certainly our approach. What we do require is a demonstrable ability to learn.

This is generally in the form of prior learning evidence.

This evidence will be provided by prospective students in two prime ways:

1. High School or GSCE Equivalent certification in your home country showing passes and reasonable competence
    in all subject areas.

2. Proof of prior related learning or advanced learning (tertiary or occupational).

3. English language competency
(a guide usually applied is of TOEFL score level equivalent to 175 CBT/450 PBT or 5.0 IELTS)

The English requirement is a necessary skill set you must at least be on the way to obtaining. This is obviously due to the nature of the accreditation you will be able to enjoy as a result of this qualification.
As our qualifications and accreditations are aimed at the English speaking world's expectations and requirements, we do expect our students to attain or possess a level of English competency that will :

A) Allow then to competently study, attend lectures and interact with tutors for the purposes of understanding,
working to level in and passing the course requirements, essays, assignments and examinations.

B) Have a level of English that can competently demonstrate their abilities in the course or module they have
undertaken both during and at the completion of the course or module.
